2015 Year in Review
Peter Machajdík continues his habit of performing all over the world in interesting places, and the same can be said for his music. In 2015, world premieres of Machajdík's music took place at LakeComo Festival, Radio_Head Festival, Melos Ethos Festival, and Forfest Festival, to name a few. Turbulent Times, one of the more impressive things Machajdík has created to date, was premiered by the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra with Gum Nanse conducting on 30 January 2015. Some other performances of Machajdík's music held in Germany, Slovenia, Italy and the Czech Republic. Peter Machajdík also opened the big exhibition of contemporary Slovak art at the Lviv Art Palace in Ukraine, and performed with dancer / choreographer Lucia Kašiarová at festivals in Prague and Bratislava.
Two shorter pieces composed by Peter Machajdík appeared on compact discs in 2015. LET for electric guitar can be found on guitarist Attila Tverďák's new album Elektrická gitara, and TÉMA Z D.A. is included on the album Leter to Develoter by the trio NE:BO:DAJ.
In 2015, Peter Machajdík composed music for two films by Tomáš Hulíik. Both WILD SLOVAKIA and GOLDEN EAGLE (Kráľ nebies orol skalný) were shown on TV in Germany, Slovakia, Austria and other countries. Excerpts from the soundtracks can be heard on Soundcloud.
From 26 February to 19 April 2015, the Kunsthalle in Košice presented Peter Machajdík's sound installation TOLLERANZA, artist's personal response to the intolerance in today's world.
Machajdík's multi-channel sound works were also included in the exhibitions of set designer Boris Kudlička and his father, painter Jan Kudlička. Another sound environment, created by Peter Machajdík in 2015, can be heard in the Belianska Cave in the High Tatra Mountains in Slovakia.
